Hyalase/Filler Dissolve
Are you unhappy with a previous dermal filler treatment? If the answer is yes, we would encourage you, in the first instance, to contact the practitioner that performed the treatment. This can be particularly important as your practitioner should have documented the precise areas treated, the amount and the brand of filler used. Knowing this information allows for a more successful outcome when attempting to dissolve. If, however, this is not possible, we can offer an assessment and possible treatment with Hyalase to dissolve the unwanted effects, subject to consultation. It is important to note that not all fillers can be dissolved with Hyalase, so it is important to know what product you have had, and the amount. You are entitled to a copy of your treatment documentation under GDPR regulations.
Hyalase (Hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that catalyses the degradation of hyaluronic acid, causing it to breakdown. It can be used to reverse undesirable effects of dermal fillers such as lumpy lips, asymmetrical results or tyndall effect (where filler is too superficial and causes a blue tinge to the skin). A small skin patch test will be performed by injecting a tiny amount of Hyalase into the forearm. Hyalase is injected into the area of unwanted filler using multiple, precise, superficial injections and results can be seen and felt almost immediately. Although the treatment itself can cause some transient side effects such as swelling and bruising. Inflammation is a natural consequence of any injection, therefore you should wait at least 2 weeks before having any further treatments with dermal fillers.
