Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy
Possibly one of the most extensively researched aesthetic treatments, PRP therapy has many medical applications
The facial ageing process involves many factors and it's not just about the skin. Ageing affects all four layers of the face - the bone, muscle, fat and skin. PRP therapy is the only treatment to address all these elements and it works by using your own platelets which are found in your blood.
Platelets are packed full of growth factors which have been proven to regulate the life of every cell in our bodies. However, in order for these growth factors to be released, the platelet must be activated.
PRP therapy allows us to harvest a large number of these platelets and activate them, before injecting them back into the skin, muscle or fat. These are your own cells so there is no chance of allergy, infection or granuloma formation. One treatment also allows for many different areas to be treated at the same time!
Face, neck, décolletage and hands can be treated and can be combined with our other treatments such as micro-needling or dermal fillers. This is also a great treatment to help with mild to moderate scarring associated with acne. PRP therapy has a great wealth of evidence to support it's use in hair restoration. This is an effective treatment for some types of alopecia and also a great way to boost growth after hair transplant procedures.

Once the treatment has been completed there may be swelling at the injection sites for 12-24 hours and there is a risk of bruising. The platelets will slowly release their growth factors over a period of weeks and results are usually noticeable by 3 weeks with further improvement continuing after this.
How many sessions will I need?
If you're looking to refresh your skin and improve tone, and the appearance of fine lines, we recommend a minimum of 3 sessions, 6 weeks apart. For scarring and hair restoration 5 sessions minimum are recommended.
